Last week was another busy one for your local Eckington Safer Neighbourhood Team, with officers out and about across the area engaging with residents, schools, and community groups.
On Monday, PCSO Rawson and PCSO Furmidge held a crime prevention stall at Renishaw CO-OP, providing advice and guidance around E-scooter legislation and burglary prevention. Later that day, they attended a community catch-up session in Renishaw, giving local residents the opportunity to discuss any concerns or issues affecting the area.
Later in the week, on Friday, PCSO Rawson and PC Hempsey visited Ridgeway Primary School to deliver an important talk on stranger danger and personal safety. In the afternoon, they attended Eckington Camms Primary School Summer Festival, where they had the pleasure of drawing the winning names for the tombola prizes.
Saturday was another packed day, with PCSO Rawson and PCSO Hodnett attending Armed Forces Day at the Bluebell Café, speaking with local residents and stallholders throughout the morning. In the afternoon, they headed to Marsh Lane Primary School Summer Fair with the police van, where children enjoyed trying on police equipment and experiencing the secure cage area of the van.
This is just a small snapshot of the many engagements your local neighbourhood team have been involved in over the past week. Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop and speak with us – we look forward to continuing to work with and support our communities.
